What is Puzzlescape?
Puzzlescape is a new live-action adventure game in Hudson, MA.  These adventures are also known as puzzle rooms, escape rooms, or adventure quests.
What is a puzzle/escape room?
You and your team are given 60 minutes to complete a mission.  You will start in one room, search for items, solve puzzles, and figure out various ways to succeed. You can also see what it's like with this video:
Are we locked in?
No.  
At no time will you be locked in the room and you are free to leave whenever you wish.  
However it helps with the immersion experience if you imagine that you are locked in and racing the clock.
Is this scary?
No.  The rooms are not horror-themed nor do they have any scary scenes, props, or activities.  Obviously, every person has a different interpretation of scary, but we feel these are "rated G" experiences with respect to scariness. The 13th Floor does have some more mature content, so we'd consider it "PG-13".
What happens if we don't succeed?
These rooms are challenging, so don't be surprised if you are not successful!  However, we will offer to walk you through the rest of the room so you can understand how the puzzles and story would have progressed if you had succeeded.

It is still a fun experience even without completing your mission!
How many people can participate?
Each room is different, but in general have a maximum capacity of up to 10 people.  We recommend fewer than that for everyone to be fully engaged and to have an enjoyable experience.

We can accommodate larger groups with advance notice - just contact us.

Our rooms are not recommended for solo play, although you can arrange that by contacting us.

In order to staff appropriately, we close our available slots a few hours before they start.  Please call us at 1-844-789-9531 to see if we are able to fit you in last-minute.
Do you accept walk-ins, or are reservations required?
We strongly recommend reservations. We may be able to take walk-ins, but we only staff around our existing bookings, so we may not be here if you don't have a reservation. This is particularly true of our early and late booking slots.
Will my team be alone or grouped with other people?
If you do not reserve all of the available spots in a room (excluding King Arthur's Quest and Pepe's Wild West Adventure), you may be grouped with other people.  This is often a fun experience and a great way to meet new friends!

All bookings in King Arthur's Quest & Pepe's Wild West Adventure are private - if you have booked, no one else can book the other spots. If you need to add someone to your party, please email/call us.
How old do you have to be?
You must be at least 16 to participate without adult supervision.
If you are between 12 and 16, an adult must remain on the premises with you.
If you are younger than 12, you must be in a private booking and with a paying adult in the room with you at all times.
How much does it cost?
It is $30 per person in a room for Watson's Revenge, The 13th Floor and King Arthur's Quest. Pepe's Wild West Adventure is $33 per person in the room.  

We occasionally offer discounts and coupons through Facebook.

Do you have a group rate?
Yes, we offer a group discount for groups above 50 people.

Do you offer refunds?
We offer refunds for cancellations with at least 48 hours notice.

With less than 48 hours notice, we can reschedule you for another time slot with at least 24 hours notice.

We do not offer refunds or rescheduling with less than 24 hours notice.
It's snowing (or raining, or windy, or hailing) - what do I do?
We usually remain open in foul weather, and will post any closings on our Facebook page.  We will also contact you at your email/phone number provided if we are closed due to weather.

We do not offer refunds for weather, but will gladly reschedule you for another date - just contact us!

Please be safe - we don't want you to have to escape a snow drift!
Do you sell gift cards/certificates?
Yes!  Please go to our booking page and select "Gift Voucher" from the menu for the room selection.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to sign-in, use the restroom, and prepare for your adventure!

Your adventure begins at the scheduled booking time.

Latecomers can join your team in-progress.  If you arrive more than 10 minutes after your start time, you will be unable to participate and refunds will not be given.
What should I wear?
Just about any attire will work! There are no physical elements that would require you to have sneakers or similar footwear.

You may not want to wear heels (men or women), but otherwise whatever attire you are comfortable in is fine!
I'm planning on having a few drinks or other recreational substances before - is that OK?
No.

For the safety of our guests, staff, and facilities, anyone visibly under the influence will not be allowed in the rooms, and no refunds will be given.
Can you accommodate large teams or corporate events?
Yes we can!  Please contact us and we can design an experience for your group!

We are in the same building as Cafe 641, up one floor (stairs or elevator).
Where can we park?
We have limited on-street parking in front of the building and on nearby side streets.  There is a parking lot behind the building (access from South St) as well a public parking lot across South St.
What happens if we are stuck and can't proceed?
Before you enter the room, we'll discuss how you want clues/hints to be handled.  For example, you may only want a clue if you specifically request it.  Or, you may want us to nudge you along whenever we see you getting stumped or off track.
